Construction at James River Clubhouse Beginning in Two Weeks

The renovation of the James River Clubhouse will kick off on January 2. If all goes according to schedule, we expect to re-open in fall 2025.

• Open and unaffected areas will be: the James River Pro Shop, East Terrace and James River Snack Bar, Women’s Locker Room, golf operations staff offices, basement level/golf cart storage, Golf Performance Center, and Tuckahoe Creek Snack Bar.

• Areas that will be closed include: the main entrance, dining room, patio, Ladies’ Card Room, Men’s Grill, Men’s Locker Room, and kitchen.

• Member dining will be accommodated in the James River and Tuckahoe Creek snack bars beginning Thursday, January 2, and, after a brief set-up period, the temporary lounge will open on Tuesday, January 14.

You will notice changes to traffic patterns in the James River Clubhouse parking lot. Visible signage will be in place to guide members and guests.

Golf

Golf will operate as normal on the James River and Tuckahoe Creek Courses, including bag drop and golf cart rentals. Please note, the James River Course is closed in January for regularly scheduled maintenance.

Temporary Lounge

Opens Tuesday, January 14

A temporary lounge will be conveniently located on-site. The space will offer seating, a bar, a limited food menu, tables for card play, and restrooms.

Lounge Hours: 10:00 AM-7:30 PM

Food Service: 10:00 AM-7:00 PM

Bridge/Card Play

Bridge and card play will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the temporary lounge. 

Bridge and card play are also available in the Westhampton Clubhouse, Monday-Friday, from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Reservations open at 7:30 AM, 12 days in advance, and are available by calling the Front Desk at (804) 288-2891.
